Expired Billboards in Jakarta will Be Controlled Soon

We'll dismantle all expired billboards and there is nothing new

The entire expired billboards in the capital will be controlled soon. Even, there will be no further recommendation on building permit for billboard in a residential area, a housing complex and on a protocol road.

City Secretary, Saefullah asserted the collapsed billboard at Jl. S Parman, Slipi, West Jakarta on Saturday (2/25) became a valuable lesson.

"We'll dismantle all expired billboards and there is nothing new," he disclosed, Monday (2/27).

He assessed the advertising agencies often override the security level and billboard construction. It has the potential to collapse and endanger the public.

"Coordination will be done along with Satpol PP, Tax and Local Retribution Agency, Investment Dept. and One-Stop Integrated Service, as well as Cipta Karya Dept., Spatial Planning and Land Dept.," he stated.

In the meantime, Jakarta Tax and Local Retribution Agency recorded, there are 63,512 billboards with size below 24 meters and 1,517 other billboards has over 24 meters that pay taxes and have a permit.

There are detected billboards have no letter of Local Tax Assessment, because the licensing process is still running. In details, 188 spots are located in South Jakarta, 115 spots are in Central Jakarta, 241 spots are in West Jakarta, 98 spots are in North Jakarta and 25 spots are in East Jakarta.

"Those billboards are mostly measuring over 24 meters," told Edi Sumantri, Head of Jakarta Tax and Local Retribution's Service Agency.

He added that the billboards which are still exist but its licensing still being processed would be charged under tax in accordance with the procedures.

"Don't let local revenue from billboard tax sector will just disappear," he said.
